I brought this one inside and gave it a good bath, to get any critters off. At the moment it's sitting in water on my kitchen counter, waiting for me to have a moment to plant it in a pot with indoor potting soil (I'll probably do this later today). Meanwhile here are some pics so you can see :)

Plant Avenue Home
I love avacados! Do you think that they will grow inside? I will be checking back to see how this goes!
ReplyDeleteI just love that that little plant is working hard to survive. I am glad you found it and can shelter it throughout the winter :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in university (oooooo, a while ago), an avocado growing on a windowsill seemed to be de rigueur. I found them easy to grow in my sunny window there, but I never had the smarts at that time to pinch them at the growing tips to encourage branching. So they ended up looking skinny and giraffelike. Nevertheless, I loved my avocados, and we had many good conversations, back in the day. Good luck with yours. It's a fun project.
ReplyDeleteSylvana - me too :) Azplantlady - I'm just glad I get a second chance - I found one last year and planted it in a pot outside, and it died over the winter. I decided that if I ever found another one, I'd bring it in. Helen - I know what you mean - this one's giraffelike already! lol. That's good info about the pinching - I'll have to look more into that. Thanks :)
